Luxury moments for the senses

Natural design flooring made from layered birch bark – non-slip, velvety-warm, water-resistant.
Ideal for exclusive bathrooms, spas and stylish interiors

betula flooring

A floor that touches. Before you step on it.

Materials characterise rooms – in their effect, in their feel, in their expression. The floor plays a special role in this: it is the first thing you feel. With betula flooring, birch bark now becomes an exclusive floor covering for sophisticated wet rooms and high-quality interiors where atmosphere and function are equally important.

Velvety on the surface, water-loving in use, non-slip to the touch. A floor that looks familiar – and yet is new.

Material

Naturally convincing

betula flooring is an elegant birch bark flooring that is particularly suitable for bathrooms and spa areas, but also for yacht interiors. The natural material is at its best when it comes into contact with water and human skin – because birch bark does not swell and, unlike wood, is therefore ideal for direct contact with water.

Product

betula flooring in detail

betula flooring is nature at its best. The water-loving floor covering consists of real birch bark veneer, which is applied to a stable carrier board – either hydrowood-based or mineral-based. Thanks to an all-round click system, the individual panels can be laid precisely and effortlessly. The result is a harmonious and seamless surface.

For customised room solutions, handcrafted tile formats are available that can be cut to size. This also enables the realisation of special room geometries and sophisticated details.

In the finish, betula flooring is only oiled. This fully preserves the natural, open-pored structure of the birch bark veneer with its unique feel. For a feeling of well-being with every step.

FAQ

:
;
Is the floor really suitable for wet rooms?

Yes, the birch bark surface is naturally water-resistant and is processed in such a way that it can withstand the demands of bathrooms and spa areas.

:
;
Can I also use the floor in the shower?

Basically yes. For this, you need the version with SPC carrier board and must ensure extremely careful installation. The weak point for water ingress is not betula flooring, but the transition to the water drain and wall connection. If you are looking for a very simple solution: We also offer a shower mat made from our exclusive birch bark surface, which is available in two sizes. Please contact us for further details.

:
;
Can I also walk on betula flooring barefoot?

Absolutely. The surface is velvety warm, non-slip and very pleasant when in direct contact with the skin.

:
;
How is the floor installed?

Wherever the floor comes into direct contact with water, e.g. when laying in the bathroom, it must be fully bonded. We also recommend this in all other areas, but technically, floating installation is also possible.

:
;
Is the surface high-maintenance?

No. Although the surface is open-pored, it is abrasion resistant. Regular sweeping or vacuuming is sufficient. Damp wipe if necessary - without aggressive cleaning agents. For installation in areas subject to heavy wear, we recommend the HotCoating version. This makes betula flooring suitable for use class 23 in residential buildings and class 31 in commercial buildings.

:
;
Is the floor also suitable for underfloor heating?

Yes, betula flooring can also be installed with underfloor heating. A level and clean subfloor is important. As it is a naturally ‘warm’ material, you will need underfloor heating less often than with tiled floors. On the other hand, it takes a little longer for the floor to warm up as the thermal conductivity is lower than with stone. In this respect, Betula flooring behaves in a similar way to a wooden floor.
